Who doesn’t want more in life? Happiness? Better health? Good relationships? Increased productivity?

Everyone wants appreciation and wants to feel appreciated. For many, appreciation is just saying thank you. But appreciation only begins with saying thanks. True appreciation is not only recognizing someone’s outstanding efforts and contribution. The term actually means to recognize and enjoys a person value or good qualities. It means showing respect and understanding as well as gratitude.

Research shows that appreciation heightens quality of life. The two psychologists named Michael McCollough of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, and Robert Emmons of the University of California at Davis, wrote an article about an experiment they conducted on gratitude and its impact on well-being.

Your sincere compliments, words of encouragement or just a warm to the people, you are actually making their world a better place. You are making them feel appreciated and valuable. When you show your appreciation and gratitude for something they have done, you will not only enhancing their lives, but you will enrich yours as well. You will feel good and happy because you have done something to make someone life better. The law of universe states that what you give you get in return. It costs little or nothing and it almost always follows suit that they will show their gratitude for what you do. When you show your appreciation by liking and noticing the good things in other they have done, they will draw to you like magnet. It will accelerate the relationship building process and enhance their overall impression of you.

Keep yourself surround with positive people. Friends and wok colleagues are there to motivate you, not drag you down. These people always appreciate you and help you with the small things and gesture. These are your friends who support and inspire you. Your circle should be well rounded and supportive.

Now learn to appreciate the life you have. Express your gratitude and appreciation for everything that you have in your life. Always remember that life is a journey, not a destination. It’s about live up every day as if it is your last. It’s about enjoying each day moment as if it were the only moment you had left to live.
